When do Manduca sexta adults emerge from underground?

I'm looking all over the internet and they are telling me when they emerge in Florida, but I want to know when they emerge in NY to mate and lay eggs.

They say something about 2-3 generations per year, so that confused me.


I know they are here because the neighbors see the larva on the plants, I want to know when to look for the adults at mating time, they are amazing when they hover and drink from the flowers.

it took like a month to two months for mine to turn
i didnt put them in ground tho
i had great succes

No I meant wild ones, ones which overwintered as pupa.

In the Spring..... there are no exact dates for this kind of thing. It varies by region and by individual animal.
