wheel bug bites?

has anyone been bitten by a wheel bug? and if so what where the affects?

i ask because a buddy of mine was bit by one, and is now feeling pretty sick. but i dont know if it is coincidence or not.

not much info on their bites.

Although I have never been bitten by Arilus cristatus most of the Reduviidae have pretty wicked bites. Reactions to the bite is not at all uncommon in many cases, and I would expect nothing different in this case. To add to the bite reaction there is a danger of an allergic reaction and infection. Pretty good bet that allergy danger is past but watch for infection.
