does anyone know the species name? i can see the vid but is it the black solifugid that has a longish tapered abdomen?

*EDIT* i managed to open it, i would really like the species name of this someone please

It is a Solfugid, and I've seen pics of a black species from Tanzania posted on Deviantart.com, which looked a lot like this one. Those are NOT Fire Ants, though, but look like regular black ants, what we call "Oak ants" here in the South. They are much bigger, but also far less aggressive, than Fire Ants. If I thought that this Solfugid could wipe out Fire Ants like that, I'd be importing these babies by the thousands!

The ants actually look like a Pogonomyrmex species...but I guess that's not really the issue. :D

I would really like to get the name of the species, that would be a awsome spider to have

can they really be that crazy. those ants still outnumberd it and it kinda sliced them in half ....fast

I would like to have one as a pet though :D

I think we've determined it's not a spider but a solifugid.
