Isnt mori mean??? Takes all the fun out of posting :p

Get some peat moss, make it moist, not wet, add some dead oak leaves throw in the isopods some dead rotton wood (feels light and spongy) Add a cucumber peice or carrot now and then. A few dead crickets, mice, worms about anything and WALAAA Instand isopod heaven!

I just put all that in a sweater box with a few holes in the lid and put them in a dark corner and leave em alone and they do the rest.

I honestly did it on accident. I just wanted to have something reminiscent of the undergrowth in the local woods. I had a tupperware container I put soil, dead wood, and leaves into. Added 10 or so isopods and that very quickly turned into several hundred. Just keep them damp is all. And the best part is, they clean up their own dead!

If you can get near a river or stream you will find rotten wood around or near it.

A good, environmentally friendly way would be to setup a vermicomposter!!! :D
My friend was doing a research project and had a few to give away. The one in my appart. has a few species of worms, with sowbugs and springtails, and something else I can't remember. Just toss spoiled fruit and vegetables in, with a little newspaper.
It's a complete ecosystem in there, with a year round source of isopods, and compost!!!
No escapes either, even though they are in Rubbermaid tubs with 1/4" ventilation holes drilled in the sides.
There were rarely any escapes when she had four of them in her living room, so they must be happy inside with food and moisture.
All the isopods you need!!!
(Damn, do I sound like a hippie. I need new friends{D )
(Actually, more like a hippie crossed with the announcer from The Price is Right:eek: )
