Just got back from a collecting field trip here in west germany, and found some nifty critters, one of which is a pillbug I have never seen before, So To help lmake my Id'ing easier.
I was wondering whats the difference between a wood louse? and pill millipede? is there any native to europe? I'll try and get some pics later.

isopods = ten legs

pillipedes = more

also, since all millipedes have two leg pairs per body segment that can be used to differentiate, too

Isopods have uropods which are paired, small terminal appendages at the end of the abdomen. These are visible even when rolled up so you don't have rip them apart and count the legs to determine what you have.

I don't think pill milipedes have these, but if you can turn over a pillbug without it curling up, there are these two pale, squarish spots at the bottom. I can sex a pillbug in the pale region between these two spots. I'll have to try and get some pics...
