Just curious what was the first snake species you ever bred?

I tried to breed my ball pythons and saw numerous lockups but never got any eggs . I also had some california kingsnakes cooling down for the winter just in case I decided to breed them the following season. All of the things is this took place in late 2006 - 2007. I also began cooling down my favorite snake species jungle carpet pythons. I did not give up when I did not get any eggs from the ball pythons. I never saw my jungles locked up but in the spring of 2007 Izabella was showing signs of being gravid I noticed the swelling on April 27, 2007. About 30 days I came home one day after coming back from a short trip and noticed she was hiding under her newspaper and she wrapped around her eggs. I gently slid her to the cool side and I decided to try maternal incubation. It was very interesting to see her go get heat and bring it back to the eggs The babies began to pip on June 27, 2007 and continued to emerge for 3-4 days after the first ones pipped. One was so big I thought there was twins one egg. I ended up with 9 babies in all. I never thought I would ever get any eggs lol but I did. I am also raising some pure coastals one is a jagaur to breed when they get old enough.

If my memory serves me right, about 15 yrs ago, it was burmese pythons. But I can't remeber, the Red Tails may have been first.

First, Heterodon nasicus nasicus (western hognose snake), then Eryx colubrinus (Kenyan sand boas). Hopefully, in a few years, Drymarchon couperi (Eastern Indigo snake).

My first breeding was a pair of California Kingsnakes, M-albino, F-Het. Then followed by Rosy Boas, after that it all gets fuzzy!;)
