I got this little dude for half off because he's sick and recently lost his tail. I have no idea what he is so could someone ID him for me and give me some tips on any specialized care?

if you dont know how to care for a gecko, then the best thing to do is let the gecko care for it self.

by that i mean offer it a wide variety of habitats:

a warm dry hide,

a warm moist hide,

a cool dry hide,

a cool moist hide.

the gecko will go where it needs to go.

Why the shotgun approach? Find out how to take care of your gecko. Take care of your gecko.

What are you looking for in terms of specialized care? I think if you follow the instructions on a caresheet from a source that you trust, your gecko will be alright. Here is a link that I found:

http://www.the-lizard-lounge.com/content/species/bibron-gecko.asp

I don't have any experience with this species. Does anybody know if this caresheet is credible?

Their care is pretty much the same as a Tokay/Golden/Marble Gecko....$20 is high.....I see them routinely at reptile shows for around $5.

A second for what mo said. Get rid of the bedding to. From what I know (and I could be wrong) use a carpet for the substrate, place the heater on the underneith of one side of the tank, and feed him lot's of crickets, mealworms, superworms etc. Also vitamin supplements such as calcium, calcium with vit. D, and general vitamins in powder form. PM me and I'll give you a good link for a gecko forum I like alot.

Yeah, is that heating pad INSIDE the tank? That's very dangerous and it needs to be taken out immediately.
