So a buddy of mine said "hey man this was sold to me as an A. hentzi, but something tells me its not" so obviously i took pics right away and now im turning to the guys who know their stuff.....YOU! please help me ID this T cuz its for sure not a new world and its for SURE not Aphonopelma.

that looks like it is female. and it is a Cyriopagopus schioedtei i have a MM and that looks like he did when he was growing up. how big is it?

looks C. shioedtei to me!!! I have a 4" female. I haven't seen her in forever since she sealed herself in her hide a month ago, presumably in premolt. I wish she'd hurry up

Likely candidates are Cyriopagopus schioedtei or Lampropelma violaceopes. They both look very similar as slings/juvies (as do the rest of the Lampropelma genus). If it is 4" and has no blue on the legs, it's likely C schioedtei.

Someone really sold that as Aphonopelma? They're gonna get someone bit.

Yeah not Lampropelma Violaceopes. At that size it would be violet already and if it was a male it would be a little more bright and a little more, well I hate using this word but ugly. I think MM L. Violaceopes has got to be one of the ugliest t's. It reminds me of a really old guy trying to get some action.. IMO lol

Cyriopagopus schioedtei for sure... it looks slightly different than my l. violaceopes. I like it though, it is gorgeous. Whose T is it?

If you got a shioedtei at that size for the price of a hentzi, then your friend is pretty lucky.
