well, i've always been told not to handle any t's, as you could always be bitten, it can stress the t out, etc etc

but t's that are usually considering "bad" t's to handle (because of venom), are things from Haplopelma, Poecilotheria, Psalmopeous, Stromatopelma, Heteroscodra and pretty much all the other africans, and many (if not all of) the aussie t's (example: selenocosmia). so basically, most old world (with the exception of Psalmopeous, they are new world).

i've had many of the t's mentioned above.... and i have to admit, i've never pick up a Stromatopelma or a Selenocosmia. those are just two t's i'd never ever pick up. lol

My answer comes strictly from first hand, (I guess no hand) experience with T's from my collection. My L. parahybana's can be pretty evil as can my N. chromatus but the one I would never, ever attempt to handle: my 7" P. cancerides. He is lightning fast, agressive, and has no fear.

As for what i own. I made the mistake of attempting to handle this chilobrachys species.. lol about 7" i never through 7 inches could move so fast... no real threat from him.. just too fast and nervous to ever really handle. but my brachys are another store.. i have a little 2" curly who sits on my hand when i type and shows no signs of stress, he'll even try to burrow down in my shirt on the couch..

Other than that i've been eyeballing a H. mac for a few weeks now and that definitely would be a display peice.

They can be, however I had a male that was quite gentle and handleable. He was very sweet. The two larger females I have now are devil spawn, one of them is almost 9 inches and was a wc, boy is she nasty!!!!
The other two from my collection I wouldn't handle are my H. vonwithi female and my H. schmidti juvie.

I have only held two my whole life an adult g. rosea and a little smithi sling lol. I would not want to hold a P. Regalis or any of the other Pokie species.

I would never free-handle Poecilotheria. I've pinned 'em though.
