What spider is this?

He was found in a (burrow-like) hole in my bird house and i want to know if i want to keep. My roomie says its a brown recluse and he doesnt want me to keep it so i just want to double check

I can't tell you what it is, but it is most definitely not a brown recluse.

Definitely not a recluse. It appears to be one of the Trachelidae - probably Trachelas pacificus in California.

It does seem to resemble the Trachelas pacificus most.
I believe I will be releasing bc I was hoping they webbed a lot. I may be wrong, but I read they dont typically use a web. Thank you all for helping
