well considering a clean kept colony of dubia has almost no odor...id say them, but i have no experience with the other. i will say that male dubia do secrete a stench but is only noticable when handling them...especially under the wings.

The only roaches I have kept that had a noticeable odor are Hissers.

Discoids have a minor defensive odor (especially the adults when picked up/pestered.) The colonies don't smell though. It's just a matter of personal preference.

The lateralis I have stink, stink, stink. I started keeping them in an enclosed plastic tub to keep the odor out of my house. I thought roaches didn't stink! LOL! I was soooo wrong!

I kept lats, lots and lots of them never had an odor. only time I had an odor in any of my colonies was when there were dead roached in it. I never kept Discoids before so I was just curious what you guys said about them having an odor.

Between discoids and Blaptica dubia, I'd say that neither one really has 'an odor'. 50/50 on that one.

There are a lot of different species of hissers, can you be more precise?
The only Hissers I have kept are the common Madagascan Giants (G. portentosa).
