It know it isn't strictly a pet, but ironically enough the Watering hole didn't really seem like a good place for a plant.

I bought it yesterday to have some sort of greenery in my room, and this particular greenery smells a bit too. The care-tips I got seemed slightly shifty though, so I ask you whether you can help identify this plant so that I may postpone its death for a few weeks, at least.

Sorry about the quality of the image and its angle - internet time is fleety nowadays.

I'm pretty sure that's a Citronella plant. It's what they make the Citronella candles from. Smell familiar? I've heard the plants do a good job at keeping the mosquitos away as well.

Might be, might be indeed.

'Lots of sunlight, preferrebly direct, 6-8 hours a day'
'Provide as much light as you can'
'Nah, yer'alright with'er indoorrrs, can keep'er in te shaade aright'

And you can take a wild guess at which line came from the mouth of the salesman. Still, no matter really, as long as you can find out what kind of plant it is.

'Only fully decomposed compost' I saw in one place that one could supply the Citronella plant with. That seems..a little off.

Well, thanks for your help Galapoheros.
