What kind of uromastyx is this?

I picked up this uromastyx lizard from the LPS a few days ago. I hope to bring him back up to health, however he has been frantically hiding and barely eating.

I was wondering if any of you could identify what kind of uromastyx this guy is. It was labeled as "Red Uromastyx Lizard". Thanks for any help.

Its a nigerian uro (uromastyx geyri). Most likely an imported female. Females are dull in color with a few exceptions. Needs to be vet treated for parasites and given some acclimation time for it is stressed. That is why it is off feed and looking for a safe secure spot to hide. The reptile classifieds and pet shops are saturated with new uromastyx imports this time of year.

It does look like it could be a dull nigerian red. It's possible it's a mali though. Those guys are probably my favorite lizards to keep

Its a female and nigerian red is correct. I do not believe it is anything else, and the belly does not look right for male. Definitely get the weight up and plenty of UVB and color will be night and day.

I'm sounding like an echo, but as I am 90% sure it's an import, I suggest you take it to the vet to rid it of parasites.
