there are a bunch of these snakes over at my buddies house and i want to keep a couple of them. we were looking at a bunch of sites but can't find anything that looks remotely like them.

i was also wondering what they eat. they're under this old lawnmower bag now and there's a massive amount of ants there so i'm guessing they eat them. would pin head crickets work for food?

i'm located in the Bay Area in California.

i've also got some hi-res shots of it too (3000x2xxx). i could email them if anyone is interested.

Maybe Contia tenius, sharptailed snake. Check if the tail is pointy.

Lelle is correct. It's a sharp-tail. Termites and earthworms it will eat.

would it be ok to feed them small crickets (pin heads i guess)?

i'm not sure what else i could give them that would be small enough.

You could try pinheads, but I don't think they would eat them. They are real big on earthworms and slugs.
