Just wondering! Mine is just seeing my jumpers happy, walking around out of all danger. Just being cute. Feeding is pretty fun to watch, but my P. undatus stalks for like 30 minutes before pouncing. So…

I like seeing each of their personalities and learning about each species. You've pretty much covered everything else. lol

This, & only this. Anyone claiming the reason they still keep these hideous creatures after discovering the joys of frolicing this site is a damn lie.
They are not hideous lol. Jumping spiders have some of the cutest little faces. Frolicking on this site is just a bonus. Thanks to this site, my spood collection has increased much to my bf's dismay.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly, my comment was merely in jest. It's actually a great question though, & deserves a real response. So here goes;
For me, the best part is their reliability. I appreciate their unique beauty, as well as their varied husbandry requirements, as I enjoy meeting them, but...they also always have a way of just "being there" that I'm grateful for. It'd be impossible to explain to just no one in particular, but I'll bet YOU (& anyone else here reading this) know what I mean...

Overall, For me just having them in my house is my favorite, getting to check on everyone in the morning when I first wake up seeing who of the reclusive’s are out.

Behavior wise it would webbing and feeding

Favorite aspect of the hobby for me is enclosure design! And making planted enclosure’s! Here’s one I just finished for a Thelyphonida! I enjoy mixing my horticulture career with the hobby! 54C794F0-BD5D-4111-A45A-BF3D6622B938.jpeg

Yeah it’s fun!! But ahh don’t beat yourself up, that happens to most people! What have you tried growing that didn’t do so well?
I had an inital viv with just some fern sp something like saginella, and then pilea glauca. I had a couple other plants like a begonia I didnt put in cause I thought they were gonna die when replanted and they did. Rn I have a viv thats been going for 3 months or so, pothos, creeping fig, and nerve plant. the pothos has one good leaf and one light green leaf with a recent white spot, probably because I dont use artificial light. The creeping fig has lost a bunch of leaves, but the ones left are doing good. the nerve plant arrived rough, but its sprouting new leaves. I think I should consider artifical light and not just the room light/light coming from my window, Im pretty sure the light is the killer (lack of).

I know. That's why I spoke how I did in my last comment. Especially, the part about my bf lol. He's terrified of spiders, but Arachnoboards has increased my love of spiders. I was supposed to have only 1 or 2 jumpers (after I didn't give him much choice in getting a sling online lol). Now I have 2 Tigrosa Annexa wolf spiders, 10 jumpers of various sizes and ages, and a crab spider my bf amazingly caught in the stockroom at his work in spite of his fear and dislike of spiders. lol

Honestly it’s amazing how just liking spiders (arachnids) can change the minds of people you speak to. When I tell people I study and keep jumping spiders, their initial reaction is always “really?” Either in a positive way or a negative way. And when I explain to them why, I do, they usually warm up to the idea. And my family finds them everywhere. One time my sister found one floating in the pool on a pool toy!

I agree. Even with my bf. He was adamant about me not having any spiders as pets, but then I caught the jumper in my bedroom and got the sling online. He still doesn't like spiders, but he's been curious on occasion an was fascinated watching my male audax (the one caught in my bedroom) eat a cricket. He even gave in to me keeping the two wolf spiders I caught and showed a jumper at work (that he didn't catch) and the crab spider he brought home. Most people give me weird looks when I say I keep jumping spiders as pets, but I found a kindred spirit with my neighbor's adult daughter. I often walk along the fence separating our properties and that is where I have found some of my little guys.
