My buddy just got a legal shipment from africa,he has all his permits and pays all his dues,BUT these 2 "beetles" or assassin bugs were hitchhikers!! WHat are they?! The red one is HUGE and mean looking! Please help!

that is very funny. i like the one with the "X" kind of mark on it's back

you should keep them in the hopes they lay eggs. maybe you could eventually introduce a new species to the hobby at large :)

p.s. those can hurt like mothers if they bite you, but i do not believe it is dangerous, per se

Those assassins are pretty cool! They don't look to be Platymeris.

Like Cacoseraph said, I'd keep them in case they lay eggs.

Well,I am more of a tarantula and scorpion guy,so I guess I will put them up for trade,so that someone with more knowledge in that type of inverts can try to successfully raise eggs if they lay any!I am scared I would screw it up!

No clue on the roaches,they were bought as "African Bush Roaches".I am taking pics and getting them on for ID also

Great looking assassins, like caco said, they don't look like Platymeris, and I guess breeding isn't very likely if you just have one of each, I guess just keep them fed, keep them separate, and maybe take more pictures, and submit some to a museum?
