Don't know the latin name, but it looks like a predacious ground beetle. Kind of blury. Nice find!

Yeah, it's definitely a Tiger Beetle. I can't determine the exact species either though, not from this angle. Nice find, they're supposed to be hard to catch!

Megacephala carolina, AKA: Rainbow Tiger Beetle/Carolina tiger beetle. Genus recently changed to Tetracha.

They are not supposed to be hard to catch. They ARE hard to catch! :}
