how big is it?

at first I thought the black thing was a street lamp, but I guess taht would be too big. like small cat sized. maybe it's a chairleg. still, it looks big.

we used to call similar caterpillers "alien caterpillers" when I was a kid. haha I guess they still havent found a better name.
