What is this...?

A lady I know came to my house today, and said she was bitten by a bug matching this one:

When it bit her, the area got a red ring around it, now it's raised up and swollen. Any idea on what it is? or any ideas on a different bug that looks like this? She just wants to make sure she's not going to get sick or something.

Yeah , I think its funny when people tell me they were bitten by a lady bug, yeah they have little chompers but.....ITS A LADY BUG.

that is a potato beetle. Those little F****** ate my chinese lanterns so bad this year that they didn't flower.....but they got theres:evil:
