Found in garden in the UK, Wales.

Appeared to have laid an egg. What type/name of spider is this? Thanks

Yep, Eratigena I think!

Looks very similar to one that I saw in my house recently!

I also have Tegenaria.

Different genus, the classification up from species.

I definitely see the difference, which led me to post the very same question to yours!

My Eratigena was much skinnier than yours though, I think. Quite distinctive pattern on the abdomen though - and brighter colour than Tegenaria.

Quite similar, yes. And neither genus is of medical concern.
