what is this, please?

Anyone know what this is?
Central Florida, near woods/water.
Large symmetrical web (3' across) only erected at night.
Body w/legs about 3-4" across.

Nevermind.. the Fla dept. of Agriculture says this one is a tropical orbweaver.
Gorgeous.
I'll try for a better pic tonite.

no matter what settings I try, I can't seem to get a good shot of this guy.
And he's a GORGEOUS spider - jet black legs with jagged yellow leggings, and a furry golden-brown body that looks spiked.

I don't understand. I took great nite shots of the critters in Costa Rica last month. but for some reason, I can't find the shot in my own backyard.

I've posted to a canon users group and hopefully will figure this out before the spider moves on.
