What is the most dangerous tarantula in the world?
I think this question has several meanings:

What is the most toxic (oz for oz) tarantula in the world?
What is the most aggressive/defensive tarantula in the world?
What is the most dangerous tarantula in the world to humans due to its close proximity to humans and widespread?

going by some of the threads I've read on here....... sounds like the T that escaped, but hasn't been found yet

This is like asking which power tool is most dangerous...the answer is whichever one is used in the stupidest, most dangerous manner....as none are inherently dangerous on their own.

One that was allowed to escape and thus paint the hobby in a negative light to the average bozos that despise our beloved eight legged invertebrates.

People keep mentioning this, and while I think there’s something to it…what about the people who live in places where there are wild tarantulas? Yes I know most will stay in burrows, but it’s been well documented that they’ll make it into peoples houses sometimes, particularly arboreals. People that live in SE Asia, Australia, or in west Africa live among T’s with pretty potent venom. And yet we still don’t have many articles on confirmed deaths from tarantula bites

"Dangerous"? Not necessarily. Tarantulas don't randomly go after people. Some species are more defensive and have more potent venom, yes. But they will typically only bite if their feeding response is triggered or if they're threatened by a predator. Now if you're asking about which species has the most potent venom, there are a few on that list. P. ornata, S. calceatum, C. hainanus, etc. Although to be honest there's still a lot we don't know about tarantula venom because studies are few and far between. Tarantula venom pales in comparison to some more venomous animals, including venomous snakes, some scorpions, and some true spiders like the Phoneutria genus of Brazilian wandering spiders, for instance.

I do not see them as threat, rather, they are IN danger because of human threat.

The ones that escape in regions they are not native to make the sensationalist lamestream media reports and are pointed back to keepers that they escaped from.

Stromatopelma calceatum. Don't take my word for it, but it's venom seems to be the worst going by bite reports. They are OW, fairly defensive in nature, a combination that can lead to a bad bite if you try anything really stupid, like handling it. Other than that, seems P. ornata is another T you do NOT want to get tagged by.

Similar post to " what's the most dangerous scorpion ".
Only of any relevance to the " look what I have" keeper.

I don’t think there’s a “toxic tarantula” that would kill a human or anything like that, a lot of the OW would make you pretty sick if they bit you and if you got to dehydrated that could be a health risk. Our Australian T’s are pretty defensive, my Selenotypus Exevale is all bite no bark will happily chomp anything in her personal space 😂

The first one - it injects its powerful venom of addiction then watches, smirking, as you buy another and then another…

Seriously though, it’s got to be an African arboreal.
