Hi, All I am new to this form. I have just gotten into spiders to get my mind off of my cancer. I am going to ad a new spider to what I have already. I have a Mexican Red-Knee already. What kind of spider would be good to ad. Megaphobema robustum or aphonopelma bicoloratum? I don`t want something that is harder then the Mexican Red-Knee to look after but, I want something with alot of colour. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks

Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry to hear about your cancer. :8o This is in the wrong section, but it will be moved by the mods.

Anyway to the question.. If you want something with more color then a B.smithi, I would go with Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens or Avicularia versicolor. They are very colorful, and pretty good display spiders. Both web, but the C.cyaneopubescens webs way more and is more visible because it stays out at the entrance of it's web tunnel. The A.versicolor can be a little tricky to care for because they need good ventilation and high humidity.

Here are pictures of both. I only have A.versicolor slings, so I'll post a link to an adult A.versicolor picture.

Welcome to the boards!

I'd say both of those are harder to care for than a B. Smithi.. But it's all relative. As long as you follow the general guidelines for a certain species, you can keep any spider you want!

Hi, Thanks for the info. I have a Greenbottle already. I just love it! I have heard the other you said is harder to look after too. Anything else??

They aren't that hard to care for, just give them more ventilation then your other spiders. I would also recommend A.genciulata. Great looking spider and gets pretty big. They are also ALWAYS visible.

Here's my female that I traded awhile ago..
