Lets see some pics of everyone's favorite spiders (non T). This is Sphodros rufipes, a local spider we have in southern Illinois that I hope to get some photographs of them this summer if I can find any of the little buggers. 8)

I love the "writing spiders" (some kind of argiope) that live in NC, they're beautiful when they get full grown.

Wolf spiders (Used to be Lycosa, think thats changed lately?) are cool too because they behave (to me) like smaller tarantulas. In the foothills of NC we see a lot of them in the fall, when they're roaming around looking for a winter hide. This one got caught in cobwebs behind my heater two yeras ago (any suggestions as to its exact species would be appreciated)

is this the writing spider that you were talking about Malkavian? They are gorgeous aren't they. I can't wait to run into one now that I have my new camera. I really like the wolf spiders too. I kept a carolina wolf before but released her when she turned up one morning with an egg sac. Talk about an aggressive feeder, it was amazing to watch her hunt.

The Happy Face!

This is one of our favorites

These are from Hawaii, hopefully someday we'll get to visit and see one in the wild.

Personally, my favorite spider is the Portia but I don't have any pics right now. I'd love to see some if anybody else has some available

Tell me, where does one find a Portia to buy? I would love one of those! And the little yellow ones are great looking

Cerb- Yes that's the spider i was talking about. The ones in North Carolina typically have darker black crosshatching than the one you picture but other than that they look identical

I couldn't decide between these 4:

Dysdera Crocata

Argiope aurantia

Steatoda paykullii

Rabidosa rabida

And I like so many more...It was hard just picking 4. By the way, does anybody know where I might find some S. paykullii for sale? Thanks,

Gary
