Hello, friend.

I would like to ask about my tarantula.

I have a B. Boehmei, adult female. Last molt was about a year ago.

For these last day, she seems so sluggish. She also pose like a dead curl.

Later, I moved her to Tarantula ICU. I also put a water dish inside the ICU. Yesterday, I saw her drinking. And walking around, although It seems like the leg is shivering everytime she move.

These are Screenshot_20250127_103612_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20250127_103618_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20250127_103634_Gallery.jpg her photos. She also refuse to eat for nearly 3 weeks.

Please advise, what happened to her? And what should I do to keep her healthy?.

Thank you for your attention.

I wouldn't worry bout her eating atm she could be in premoult. This sounds like your problem is dehydration hence the t getting better in the icu. Give her a nice full water dish and try dampening her sub for a bit. See how she does with the extra humidity. Unfortunately there isn't much else I can suggest apart from that. I hope she pulls through n gl.

The substrate does look quite dry, I think she would appreciate the option of a moist corner.

If you have been running heat in the house it sucks the moisture out of the air. I'm having to hit everyone's enclosures every few days to maintain a moist spot, and I use reptisoil which holds it much better. I have two Ts on coco and I have to hit it every other day (because I work 24 hour shifts...). I live in the desert though.

Oh I imagine being a parent is way harder. I babysat my neice for a date night and I was exhausted 😂 I even cheated and unknowingly introduced her to her first Disney songs, got in trouble for that 😂

I have never slept well...even since I was a kid I'd sleep for 4-5 hours. I get in these ruts where I only sleep for 2 (thank you, last few weeks) because I wake up at some random time and then my brain wants to do it again the next day. Overtime can start to grate on you, 48 hour shifts are brutal so I make sure my OT is not a Friday/Saturday or a full moon when the crazies are out😂. My longest was 60 hours and I was falling asleep standing up. As soon as I got in the car I was wired...

I haven't mastered the "NASA nap," the FAA (air traffic controllers and pilots) have a nap, one of the Ivy leagues (Harvard?) did a study on college students...somewhere between 22 and 30ish minutes is enough time to give your brain a break, and still be able to function (or retain knowledge and test well for students). Of course, you need to be able to fall asleep quickly and then set an alarm for the ideal time. One of those I can't do but it helped relieve the stress of a narrowing window to when having to actually start the day. You wake up feeling like you aren't tired, and didn't sleep, and it keeps me going for another 8 hours. Apparently it's not long enough to enter a deeper sleep cycle.

I'd dig up some research for you but I just yawned so that means tones are about to go off any second 😂😂 but also that I may be tired... Ta Ta for now ❤
