I perfer to use Nature Zone Cricket Total Bites. Crickets stay alive along time, and get food/gutload and water all in one. Also keeps odor down in the cricket tank. Its eather all eaten or evaporates and just spoon some more. What does everyone else use?

Midgets, mostly a few dwarves occasionally. Any LOTR character, when I get my hands on them. So far, only bilbo. Maybe the odd potato or two but any non-midget (or non LOTR character) item must have a naturally occurring picture of jesus, the virgin mary, or budda.

vegy, fruit, grain and sometimes cereals. remember if you only feed an animal one type of food they are going to lack in nutrition. may nto be as noticeable in bugs, but when you feed lrager animals like reptiles, birds, or mamals it can show somewhat quickly.

my cricket thing is a bit wierd, when i get a box of cricks i seperate them into 2 crick boxes(stops em getting lairy and eating each othe) where i feed them Iceberg lettuce, because it has 0 nutritional value and is full of water the cricks stay the ideal size for weeks, when i feed a freshly moulted animal or one that hasnt eaten in a while i move them into another container and feed themlettuce sprinkled with cricket gutloader diet plus or whatever it is.

I have been told that if you raise them on sweet pototoes they don't stink.

I haven't tried it yet as I hate crickets! (smelly, noisy, annoying as hell  ! No thank you, roaches are easier.)

I've tried most of the above over the years. I just recently tried the "orange cubes" I bought from PetSmart made by Fulkes I think. They just don't like it compared to the other things mentioned in this thread. But, I still have the cubes and they do provide moisture for the crickets. So when they are thirsty, they will eat it. That's what I'd use it for but not as an only food source.

well I like the idea of the "all-in-one" cube, but that's just too expensive for my taste.

i use gel crystals I buy for about $3 and that gives me 20 or 30 times the amount of liquid I can get from the "all-in-one" cube, and moisture is the most important factor for my crix as far as I'm concerned.

Other than that, they get cat food, dog food, rice crispies, banana peels, orange peels, apple leftovers, carrot peelings, potato slices
