Despite this being a somewhat common spider, I couldn't find a verified picture of one. Does anyone have a picture of a brown recluse spider eggsack? I cant find a picture...
Thank you!Great shot of the eyes!!
Need you ask?Thank you!
Would you like to see more pics?
Soon. (I will make a separate thread so as not to derail this one.)Need you ask?
First pic is her first sac... wasn't sure it was even a sac until I lifted the top of it off. That set of eggs dried out, none survived. The other pics are her 2nd sac. This [i[Loxosceles[/i] has not been officially identified to species - even Rick Vetter is not sure without very very good pics of a living specimen. He would need to get one under a microscope before IDing it exactly.Whoa! Is it just me or is that a tiny clutch with huge eggs? Is that typical for a brown recluse?
I probably give my girl more respect than I do my tarantulas.I found a whole colony of brown recluse several years ago under the bark of a dead tree. While catching several, I found some of the females to be quite aggressive. They were biting the small stick I was using to move them into the container. I'm posting this as a reminder to be cautious.
Though usually shy and retiring, they can be aggressive, and with that kind of venom it's not worth taking any chances.I probably give my girl more respect than I do my tarantulas.
Exactly. I am not a fan at all of the hosputal where I live either.Though usually shy and retiring, they can be aggressive, and with that kind of venom it's not worth taking any chances.
