I use acrylic enclosures for my larger spiders with no issue, but the ventilation holes on the ones I have are too big for my slings. My one regal sling, Bandit, escaped right through one of the holes as I was filming him, so I ended up moving them all to baby food jars with a screen on top until I can upgrade them to something bigger, but I don't really care for the aesthetic 'cause it doesn't match anything in my reptile room. What are you using for your slings? I currently have 2 phidippus regius, and 3 phidippus adumbratus I would like to find a better alternative for. (I added a picture of one of the female babies, and one of the enclosures I have for my older spiders).

I use these cool little Reptizoo acrylic enclosures for terrestrials, and the Lucky Reptile ‘Critter Box’ for arboreals / fossorboreals. :D

Edit: mine are tarantulas - but maybe there is some crossover potential.

I don’t have a sling, but I do have a juvenile that’s pretty small and was 5mm before this last molt. I use a smallish plastic enclosure with a vented lid. I love this because there are no holes except for the vent, which the holes are too small for my jumper to fit through. I’ve never had any problems with mold either. I don’t usually spray the substrate though. FC7CF27D-C97B-4290-BC4D-0EE81AC092F4.jpeg

Get yourself a half decent adjustable temp soldering iron off Amazon. About £25. You can then use all manner of washed and rinse food tubs as well as any plastic tub.

It's worth paying a few quid more for an adjustable soldering iron as it allows you to dial the temp down so you can make precise small holes on thin plastics.

Mostly the nooks and crannies. And under the kitchen counter.

I'll have to try the soldering iron idea. All the acrylic enclosures I've bought, the ventilation is still too big for the slings, and I have 6 currently. I have those acrylic boxes with the vents on tops and they are still too small and squeeze through.

A 16-32 oz deli cup would work very well and you can heat up a needle or thumb tack or something similar and make very small holes exactly how you want and need them to be.
