What causes stress in scorps?

Hey guys if you don't know I recently got an R. Junceus from Kelly swift and it a small little 1/2 incher. I don't know if it's just a secretive species but I can never see him. Every couple hours (starting to not do it) I try and find him. Most of the time when I do this I move stuff till I find him. I've even held him twice. Is this enough stress to kill? I know I should probably stop and I am but I would like to know. Thaks

I would not do that because it sounds like your overreacting. It should be hiding like all scorpions like to.

1. R.junceus should be given vertical bark to climb…usually mines are always out because they’re on the bark. Occasionally, I’ll have one hide under the bark but doesn’t stay there long. That being said post up a picture of your set up because it’s hard to imagine you never see it.
2. stop messing around with it. It’s more likely to die from stress if it’s a young 2i-3i. Why handle it? I know this is a touchy subject all I’m saying is the more you mess around with it’s enclosure and the more times you pick it up to touch it the more stress your causing it.

I have bark and it does climb but it hides like 200% of the time and like I said I'm stopping myself. The holding part was a one time thing for a quick photo op which I will be posting later. Don't need to explode I understand I've done wrong and I've stopped. And yes shredder I probably am but I care deeply for my animals and when I have nothing to do and noone to talk to I enjoy their company.

I didn’t blow off I’m not an angry person. I was simply giving you advice. I thought I worded it fairly nicely….sorry if I came off angry or rude. It looks fine the only thing I can recommend is some darkness. I keep mine in cabinet so when I check up on them they’re usually always out and active. You can check out mine

Oh and about the feeding mines are picky and wont eat roaches I just get small crickets. They can eat crickets a little bigger than themselves.
I originally fed mine fruitflies but I hat ff (messy) so I switched to pinhead crickets and they do fine.

3 or 4 times a week should be adequate, it all depends on your scorpion's appetite. You'll eventually get him fat enough to not want to eat anymore, and it just becomes a waiting game, till it's time to molt!

Lol I fear he get stuck is why I WAS moving stuff around but I'm not any more. Do I just drop in crickets or should I watch? Also I was worried because if I never see him how do I know if he's even alive?

He's only in danger if he is molting and the cricket attacks him. If the cricket is still there in a day or two, just take it out. You don't have to watch him eat, as it would likely stress him some.

Yeah, scorpions are little survivalists. As long as you keep bark scorpions fat, humid, and hot as hell, you have nothing to worry about. Also, as was said before, watch out when feeding a scorpion in premolt, you don't want your scorpion to become cricket food.

Yeah. I've feed him once and I'm feeding again today. He's so cute when he's eaten he's like an orange balloon :)
