What can I do with dead leaves? There is this plant that my mom has and it seems to drop a lot of leaves. It will layer the top of the pot with leaves. They just sit there and I'm wondering if I can use them for anything. Like feeding millies, decoration, and what not. I'm just concerned that they're infected with parasites or mites. They don't really decompose quickly and my mom always makes me pick them out:wall: . Well I'll post some photos of it for you guys to see.

Crunch up dead leaves and spread them around someone's bedsheets.

My family absolutely hates me. =\

Well not really the answers I was looking forward to, but LOL. I ment what can I do with them insect-wise. Is there anything I can culture with it? Is it ok if I can use them in setups with frogs?

Millipedes may enjoy certain types of leaves.
My mom yells at me when I track leaves in the house.

That is a CROWN OF THORNS. When injured they exude a white, sticky sap.I dont know about inverts, but our dog licked some of the sap once and he ACTED LIKE IT HURT HIS THROAT AND tongue. I now Keep my crown of thorns away from all our pets.

olabane's right. it is a Crown of Thorns, a member of the Euphorbia family, a family whose sap if toxic. I'd follow his/her advice and keep it away from my critters.
