Yup called a nuptial flight males and queens fly from different colonies and mate. Only the queen will survive mating and make a colony

By the time they mate probably 250 will die from the predators, 100 will probably die while looking for a place to make their colony, and they will fly away to mix up the gene pool so you’ll probably have 2 new colonies. So not to much to worry about.
