What am I?

I found this today crawling on a picnic table. I have never seen a bug like this before. maybe someone know whats this is. Sorry some of the pics are blury, but this darn thing was running a mile a minute. My girlfriend thinks this is a beetle larva of some sort.

i agree though it looks alittle on the thin side.

introduce it to some aphids:)

It is a ladybird beetle larvae of some sort(not sure of exact species).

that's what a ladybug (or is a ladybird something else?) larvae looks like?!?!?! i've seen those plenty of times but had no clue lol

sorry i did not check back sooner. do they eat the same as ladybugs do? could they be hartmful to a T? would the T eat it? i use lady bugs in my tanks randomly to control unwanted critters. drop one in for about 4 days and youre cleaned up. then just let it go...with winter comming i may keep several for emergency cleaning. ladybugs do eat mites!

Well they have quite potent 'dont eat me' taste secreted from them the same as ladybugs so I wouldn't suggest using it as a feeder and it eats aphids jsut like the adult version. Eventualy its tail wil lstick to some surface its back will split and a pupae will emerge :)
