So My S. Rubronitens has been acting strangely lately... Ever since I've had her she has not been much of a webber. Two days ago she webbed up her burrow. I figured it was time to molt. She's been in my care for 3 months now and hasnt molted yet. But when I got home yesterday she had punched a hole out of her burrow, and made her way towards her half-full waterbowl, and began webbing what is now a HUGE bowl shaped web. It's about the size of a cereal bowl... Humidity in the tank is fine.... I wonder why she moved? It is one heck of a web though. Before I left for work I put a time lapse camera on her. Here's to hoping I get to see something cool :)

Yeah, I'd like to get something to do some time-lapse as well.

Is she WC? Maybe she's making a sac for you.

Lol... Thats what I thought as well. But, she doesn't look that swollen. If anything, it will probably be infertile. As far as I know most S Rubronitens are WC. Maybe I'll end up with a viable sac. Who knows.... lol....

BTW, the time lapse thing. All you need is a Playstation 3 and the camera for it. They offer some software from the PS store that you can do 5, 10, or 30 second time lapse shots on. It's pretty cool :) I just put her and a very dim CF lamp in view of the camera, and left my playstion running :) (don't worry, the lamp is low wattage and isn't even pointing at her. There will be no BBQ'd tarantulas here :))

BTW, whether she molts, or lays a sac, you can bet I'll post the time lapse here :)
