Went to a local reptile expo on Sunday. Picked up this little guy. I've wanted one for awhile so I couldn't resist. :)

I have one too, as my only foray into the world of snakes.
I was warned about their iffy feeding habits, but coming from spiders, it was no big deal :)

What a cute little guy! He's got great color.

Hobo, interesting that you've jumped right in--I have wanted one of these since I was a kid, and always figured I should keep corn snakes or something first. I don't have the extra room at the moment to spare for herps, but maybe when I move in a couple of years...

I hear you lol. He can't be any worse than my ball pythons. I just had two come off hunger strike. One hadn't eaten since last October and the other since November.

His color is why I picked him. The seller had about 13 hognoses and he jumped out at me because of his more reddish tone. :)

Very jealous, I love hogies, but currently have no space for them , so I have to settle for pictures.

Ive got one that size, that looks just like yours. They definitely are cute. And i love when they get the little bluffing act going, doing a little huffing, hooding, and closed mouth striking. Its so cute!

My big girl does all of this. She also lets out the loudest hiss I have ever heard from a snake. You can hear it the whole way across the room!

Mine hasn't done any of the hissing yet. Then again I've been pretty much letting him settle in this week so haven't bothered him too much.

Just a little update. He ate for me last night with out any problems. Finally got to see him huff and puff a little bit. He had to scare his mouse fuzzy before he ate it lol.
