well i went to gaiser pets to get some crix for my one and only T. well... seen a rosie in a tank... and stupid me had to ask the price!! $15 was what i got told, so i checked on some ecco earth since i needed some and checked prices on cages. since my income is very meager i asked how small a kk would be ok for a month (trying to decide if i should or shouldn't get the skinny T). well the reptile guy told me i could borrow one of his personal kk till i get a cage.
so now i a rosie with the smallest, skinniest rump i've seen (but no hooks, so i'm hoping she just needs some food and water). got the ecco earth soaking at the moment. gonna try to take pic's later.

 who??? me??? nah!!!!never!!!:liar: :liar:

well, i while i put dirt in the kk i had rosie in a container and put some water in it ... rosie was ALL over that water. so since i had no hide i temporaly appropriated the blue mesh sticky note holder from a set i bought and have not used, flipped it over and stuck it in the dirt, place a water dish and rosie in it. it should work till i can get a better house. she (i hope) is already eating a cricket right now. so i'll toss another one in tomorrow to fatten that rump up.
oh, and next to my b.smithi my rosie is little.

gonna take pic's tomorrow after the t is more settled and hopefully doesn't look so starved.

Should be fairly easy to do. Just walk into nearly any large pet store. Good luck getting it for 15 bucks though.

Just wait until its molting, then maybe you could get a better deal for the "dead" spider.

i won't have that luck at gaiser pets, the reptile guy there was originally just helping out because he owns reptiles and knows about them. he brings his own iguanas and what have you to work with him. i never see him without an iguana or so on his shoulder, running on the floor or so.
my first rosehair i bought they couldn't figue out how to het into the little box for hamsters.
this guy, he just reached into the cage and scooped her up, placed the bark piece that was in the old cage into the one he let me borrow, placed the T into it after petting her leg and let the clerk ring her up.

but i wouldn't mind getting some more good deals on T's.
as long as the mngers at my apt don't find out.. (i have now 2 T's, a hamster and a betta... and got told 2 little critters since i have 2 kids).
but T's are so easy ... and so easy to hide.

but then, my b.smithi was a better deal - and she came with tank and everything.

but the rosie wasn't kept too bad, just looked like she just came in or got dropped off ( they do take donated pets, keep them for a while with a not for sale sign, to make sure they are ok, then sell them )

That's exactly how I got my B.smithi sling. Went in for crix for my mature female rosie and there he/she was...calling my name. LOL
He's here now, happy, fat and content and I am anxiously awaiting a molt, he looks like he is ready to bust out of the old exo! I will post pics when the big event happens.
Good luck with your new rosie!

I think that's wonderful! I'm glad you were able to rescue her. Yes, I remember the day I went into a pet store to get a larger collar for my young and growing puppy and came out with a very sick Border Collie puppy. For sure she was a puppy mill baby but what absolutely burned my hide was that no one in that shop noticed the mucous pouring from the nose and eyes or that when she tried to get up, she couldn't. Yep, had to pay full price too. We had that fabulous dog for many years and she finally died of old age. Best $400 + vet care I ever spent. She was the most unforgetable character I have ever met and I miss her so much. Rescues are a good thing to do.

Yea, i did the same thing with a G. rosea RCF at my pet store, it was really skinny. to date it will eat 3-4 crix at a go, but still hasn't gotten much bigger in the abdomen, i'm not worried, as long as they arent shrivled right?

thats true. my daughter loves rosehairs. but she looked at this one and said it scared her because it was so skinny. but after 3 crix and some water she looked better and my daughter was fine with her.
a friend of mine want to see her (the rosie), she is an arachnophobe, but she wants to look anyway. she seen my redknee already.
