This is a very small selection of footage I got when I put my GoPro (along with some bait) in the water just off shore.

Had to laugh at the title, mainly the word "struggling". I watched the whole thing, waiting for a moment of struggle...all I saw was fish feeding in current.

I was actually hoping to see a large fish demolish those small ones. Underwater fish footage is none-the-less, still pretty cool..

Well to be fair, their tail fins were working pretty hard at times. And a few times, I did notice some fish try and swim against the current, even if only briefly with not much success. Though yea, maybe I should change the title.

This is a very small sample from about an hour's worth of footage. Elsewhere, there is footage of one of the fish (a sweep) pecking a blenny.

Here in WI there's a popular river that feeds a huge lake (Winnebago) and in spring, during the spawning run, they have several cameras strategically located throughout the river on full time. It's always worth a few minutes, especially when they are packed in.

Hey, that's a very cool idea. I bet there would be lots of good footage accumulated. I'm assuming that's mainly salmon?

The footage seen in the above clip was recorded on Kangaroo Island in South Australia. The plan is to record more underwater footage from different locations around the island and edit the video into individual half hour clips. Then put the clips on DVD and Blu-Ray and offer them for sale. Though that would likely be months away. It will be a similar kind of concept to those ambiance films featuring aquariums and fireplaces and the like.

No, around here the salmon runs revolve around Lake Michigan's tribs.

This is a walleye spawning run that the cameras record...it occurs the same time basically as the sturgeon, white suckers and redhorse suckers. Ya see cats, carp, bass, sheepshead (drum) and minnow species as well, but to a much lesser extent.
