My Rosie has never done the "fangs" thing, but whenever I have held her and put her back in her cage, she just stays in one spot for several hours.

The last time she did this I assumed that she was just getting stressed out from the handling process. It was this last time several weeks ago that I decided it was best not to hold her since I don't like stressed out Ts, and stress is certainly not beneficial to their well-being.

It seems as if there are those "just look at me, but don't handle me" Ts even among the supposedly docile species. My Curly is also stressed by handling. I know it's fun and challenging to hold Ts, but their health should take precedence over our fun.

You should avoid handling when the behavior seems unpredictable, as well as when their behavior changes when placed back in the enclosure. I'm sure that there are Ts out there that are indifferent to handling, but we just need to patience to find them. :)

I used to 'hold' mine a lot when I was younger. About three years back though she just turned nasty. I havn't really 'handled' any spider since then, to an extent the novelty has worn off for me :S

Not sure why they are baring their fangs, but if I were you I wouldn't handle them now. Give them some time, maybe try again in a couple of weeks. If they act the same then, don't handle them at all.
