its a fly ...fishing fly ...thats why the pic is titled camel spider fly tying ...

it's a fishing lure that's supposed to look like a solifugid. i saw it somewhere before.

I count eight legs and two palps.....whoever made it had a decent idea of morphology....but I don't know many places where a solfugid risks falling into a stream full of trout.

Someone posted that at another board I go to.
Here was their reply when asked what it was.

"Lol. It's not real

I found it on website from a guy that makes custom animals (mostly insects) for people.
That one he said was a Camel Spider, but he added the colors and stuff. It just looks creepy"

You'd be suprised how real some of those things can look. What fly-tiers can do with just a hook and some string is simply amazing.

They have to be that way to fool fish. Fish in over-fished waters quickly become tuned in to what lures fishermen are using. During the summer when I go fishing and experience a sudden drop-off in fish I catch, I usually just switch lures/bait and keep on fishing in the same spot.

That is just incredible, the amount of skill that the maker must have to produce waht to me is a real work of art! lol fair play thats some talent!

I actually am friend with the gentleman who made that. His name is Graham from California. He has also made a spider that was used by the Hardy reel company in England. H is a regular on a few fly tying forums.
