:? I was sitting at my computer and head this crunching sound. Couldnt figure out where it was coming from but I heard it a few times. Kinda sounded like someone crunching on potatoe chips. Later in the eve I was watchin my Avic Metallica, and heard the crunching again. He was tweaking his webbing, the crunching sound was from the T. "chewing" on the webbing with it's fangs and pressing it with it's foreleggs.

why is he doing that? :?

Well I know that orb weavers eat their web to gain back some lost protein. Maybe you should feed it more? Or dust your cricks (if you use them) before you feed.

it could just be getting rid of what it percieves as "extra" unneeded web strands.

my little a.avic had about 2 -3 layers of web right under the lid of it's jar, and the other the she/he took it all down and is eating it. now it got to start over with the webbing (and hopefully a little lower in the container).
