I opened my avic avic breeding pairs' tank today and Kelly's male bolted.
I must have disturbed him...
I let him wander around a bit before securing him.

Maybe that's because your female keeps giving him the cold shoulder! Maybe she's gravid and he decided to head for the hills before she eats him. Let's hope so anyway!

BTW, he looks great! Thanks for taking such good care of him.

Every time I open the Pinktoe colony cage, one always likes to get out and walk around a bit. I usually let them do that since they really don't get very far. Not only that, but I won't disturb them that much with clean up if they are on the outside.
