Wax worms and Jumpers

Today I allowed 2 of my jumpers try out a wax worm for their first time! My male i7 Phidippus Regius and my mature adult female Colonus Hesperus spiders. Attacked them no problem and started to eat them. I noticed where they were eatting the wax worm, the area of the body started to blacken almost instantly. I came back 30 min later and both spiders abdomens looked like they were about to explode! They weren’t even halfway finished but I was worried they were actually going to explode!
Any tips? Should I wait for the spiders to be full grown? I’ve never hand fed larger insects to them like this

I prefer small meal-worms, but wax-worms are a good option as-well.

Well they didn’t seem to want to try the wax worm! Like it was a challenge for them to get the wax work cause it moves so much!! But man my spiders look obese now
