Good day. I've been using a scented wax melter in my room to freshen it up......some of the wax i buy CAN be rather strong. I recently got back to the hobby and I don't wanna harm by GBB by using this while she is in one of my shelves in my room. Anybody know if these wax fragrances are ok to use around a T? Thanks!

I would check the ingredients, look them up, and determine if the contents could be harmful. The only thing I can say is to probably avoid anything with cedar or neem oil.

I can only speak from experience, but I've been keeping for about 5 months now and I have essential oil and wax diffusers in my home that I use all the time and I haven't had any bad signs from my tarantulas. They are not in the same room as the wax diffuser but that door is open so the smell can hit the back half of my place and they are in the same room as the oil diffuser, but away from it. I also burn scented candles in the same room as them and have not seen issues, they are nicely tucked away from this as well though.

I never even thought about it hurting my Ts, maybe that's because all the spiders and centipedes and ants love to be in my house already so I never thought of it as a concern and could be totally wrong. But, given the fact that scented candles have been around ages and I don't see warnings against those, reason leads to believe it should be okay.

EDIT: @The Seraph makes a good point, avoid known insect repellent scents, I didn't even think about this since I know none of my scents are (I'm a floral person).

I keep most of my tarantulas in my room, I have been doing so for years. I use a wax melter or glade plug-in 24/7 and I haven't had any issues at all.
