Waterbug ID please

I caught a couple of these in western Johnson County, Kansas today. I thought they had a cool pattern.

I also collected some Thamnocephalus platyurus- Beavertail fairy shrimp

The waterbug is about 1/2 inch long.

Looks like a small flat diving beetle Acilius spp.

I dont think Ive ever heard it referred to as roe, but yes, those are eggs, or cysts.
