How do you guys give your whip scorpions water i am getting a vinegaroon and a Damon diadema and I don't know how let them drink. I know they can drown if the water is to deep. I will give them water in a deli cup lid with a folded up paper towel at the bottom is this ok?

When i water my tailess whips, i just mist the inside of the enclosure, being sure to mist the objects so there are droplets to drink from. Sometimes the whips will hold still and let me squirt some directly on their pedipalps, and they will drink from that. I also pour some water into the substrate for humidity. When i kept vinegaroons, i used a small water dish, and also misted. You could use a deli cup, but would need to cut it down shorter, taking a flame to "melt" the edges so they are not sharp. Would be best to just find something that is more shallow intstead. With a paper towel in the water, it will quickly harbor bacteria.

With my Damon I mist as catfishrod69 does but I also have a small reptile water dish. It is usually a couple inches full. I have never had even a baby Damon die in it but I have also never observed a Damon drinking from it. There are no pebbles in it. You are safe with a full water dish or just misting. Good luck.

I'm hoping to keep Damon diadema someday soon, and have a rather shallow water dish that I'll likely use for them, after reading this thread. Seems misting the objects in the enclosure is best, but the waterdish I have is only ½" deep and about 4" x 3". Certainly nothing other than phorid flies can drown in it, plus it helps show how fast the humidity dissipates: takes about 3 days for it to dry up in the current terrarium (a huge Exo-terra).

Ya, I would add it. I like them for this reason...adds a little more humidity to the enclosure. The Exo-terras have a good amount of ventilation compared to what I keep mine at. Mine have very high humidity and minimal ventilation and I have had no deaths for multiple generations. They are very fun long term projects for breeding. They are awesome arthropods to keep.

I like Exo-terra tanks, but the screen top always seems to need an adjustment. Maybe I'll replace it with acrylic or glass, with whatever ventilation I'd need.

Thanks for the response Mr!

And thank you Mikael29 for letting me hijack your thread!

You could just cut small pieces of plexi glass and stick ontop of the screens, so they fit right down in with the screen.

A little more info...I was looking at all of my Damon today. I have been doing a little experimenting with single species, multiple species, brothers/sisters, non-brother/sister, father mother babies, etc. Anyway...I realized I have put 6 really small Damon in their own enclosures and did not have water dishes. I just mist them twice a week. They are fine and are almost all full grown. None have died. I hope this helps. : )
