water crystals for roaches

Hello! I will soon be starting a roach colony but I am not sure which water crystals to get for them. I would prefer
( BUT DOESN'T HAVE TO) them being on Ebay because that's where I will be getting my roaches too. What I found was https://www.ebay.com/itm/10000pcs-C...3408174a8a:m:m0GcHz3lwhVxswpjDCHIqYw&LH_BIN=1
but it says its not safe for children so I am guessing it has some chemicals in it? Thanks for the help

I’ve never required water crystals in my roach setups, if fed well they will gain all the moisture needed from fruit and veg.

Basically anything but tomatoes(as well as other members of the nightshade family) and citrus. For hydration cucumber are pretty good. Beetle jelly cups also work well and last long but can be fairly pricey in bulk (which you’ll start to need)

Remember to administer protein in the form of dry pet or fish food as well!

Doubt so, I’ve never paid much attention to the protein content or the fish food but I can’t imagine there could be ‘too much’ for the roaches.

I use dermestids since they came as a freebie with most livefood before the roach colony. They do help reduce waste and mould but aren’t essential.

I use peanut butter container lids,with damp plain uncolored paper towels. I do this in addition to fresh veggies and fruit.
