are you talking about wild caught water bugs? and are water bugs fairly large, flat, black beetles?
if they are, or are like, cockroaches and they are wild caught i would say you shouldn't feed them to any of your pets. wild roaches tend to have a high tolerance for a lot of common pesticides, and so can accumulate them in their tissues. the roach might not even act like it's sick but have enough toxins in it to hurt your pets
but if it's something you've bought specifically as a feeder bug then go for it. my black widows ate pretty much any thing i put in there... including iron-clad beetles, which not even my african praying mantis could eat
You need to be more specific when using the terms "water bugs". Technically “water bugs” refer to the infraorder Nepomorpha, which includes the fully aquatic true bugs (Heteroptera). This infraorder includes the giant water bugs (Belostomatidae), waterscorpions (Nepidae), backswimmers (Notonectidae), and various other families of extremely fascinating insects. I would not recommend attempting to feed any nepomorph species to an arachnid. These insects are incredibly voracious and venomous predators that would be able to kill other arthropods even out of the water.
