I saw a few walking sticks sold as pets I think indian walking sticks, and the seller said they had to be fed oak and raspberry leaves, but online it says they can survive strictly on romaine lettuce. How would you feed them in the middle of winter if you cant grow plants for them?

now i'm bummed, because I wanted to buy one at a reptile show but the guy said they would not survive on lettuce. ordering online is risky and expensive than in person plus you cant pick the healthiest specimens. :(

i keep thailand green and elegance walking sticks. in the summer i feed them on oak leafs and rasberry. and in in the fall i collect about 200 oak leaves u can freaze them when there green and they will keep quite well, just put them in as needed and suppliment with romane lettuce. also spray a little more in the winter as they tend to dry out a little faster in my experience. hope this helps.

It is worth noting for all that dont know:

Keeping nonnative species of phasmids in the USA is illegal. Just dont do it, and if you do, dont post about it. The USDA/APHIS do read AB and have taken interest in hobbyists in the past.
