I ordered the walk in the park mystery order as a surprise for my spider loving toddler ( she has 3 jumpers already, and I missed big Ts).
I'm already preparing for disappointment. Am I about to be disappointed with the species? :spider::sorry:

Toddlers keep spiders ?? I didn’t catch any til like 6. lol 😆 they need to let you keep the spiders and just observe your pets. It’s an addiction that won’t go away. Plus any size tarantula is awsome.

More information is needed what do you mean by disappointed in something you haven’t got yet ?

It's a mystery order from a seller. OP is hoping they get some good ones.

But if you didn't want a mystery, don't order a mystery bundle. 😅

Yes, she has 3 spiders at 3 that she helps care for and it has been extremely expensive so far. She got a white phase female p regius last , so we are hatching flies now. I really don't mind, because I enjoy them too . I guess I should also add my toddler is a bit different . She doesnt know how to kid. She is always supervised, but she grew up in a tattoo shop, music lessons, art, with a sevant dad... You get the picture.
Either way, I'm not going to be upset. I'm just hoping for something interesting, which I guess all are. I did add extras, tbh.

Jumpers are good hunters, I never had a cb one I let the wc ones go I just caught to observe.. they make good pets yes. But a toddler which age is that 3-5?did she ask for spiders . I caught them before buying any.

Yes, she did.
As a result she has to "help" with the husbandry and "check" them daily. She is very adamant no other child is to go into their area, touch them, etc for everyone's safety . She does this on her own .
Well, honestly not all cb jumpers are great hunters, but ours have been fairly decent.

edit to add she is 3.

It started , for her, with rescuing spiders millipede, etc from my green house , while she cared for plants. ( Yes, she has plants of her own, and helps with mine. Lol) She must have been 2.5 screaming at me , thinking I was going to hurt the spider .

Yeah it’s possible, I had cages back then but I already planned on tarantulas when I was 12. Guess she started early on inverts …. I always caught bugs .

I paid something like $75 each on sale for these particular enclosures. I couldn't bring myself to buy one of the typical jumper enclosures. These provide a more natural feel, shelves, no hard plastic minis etc.
I spent more on set up than spiders, but isn't that the classic story?
Honestly they were worth it with the canopy top too.
Jumper people are guilty of not using substrate , setting up death mazes, etc.
I want the kid to understand we don't half a## things when it comes to living things. It has gotten so bad that some people require adoption applications for jumpers now.
Sorry for writing a book.

I think surprise boxes can be dangerous. Unless they are are stated, at a minimum, if old world or new world.

i heard p murinus often get given as surprises.

i can’t wait to to see what your surpise tarantulas are!

I was DEFINITELY surprised with one species. It strikes me as an intermediate ish species. ( I swore it was overrated and I'd just gift it to my collector friend, but it's actually growing on me).
I ended up with two surprises. One was definitely very well started. The others, including my freebie and one I purchased as a gift, were TINY.
THANKFULLY, everything is thriving. I'm honestly not disappointed.

DID I GET WHAT I WAS REALLY WANTING? Nope. Did I find species I might actually like as well and wouldn't have purchased? Yes.

GBB's are awesome. The webbing they do is insane. Look really cool all the way into adulthood too

Sorry to hear that. Ugh, I hope this one does alright. It's fiery, eats great. So far it has taken spikes and runners. Keeping it under cool leds with my jumpers.

You never wrote what tarantulas you received. I can tell from the first photo it's a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens. Probably 1 inch sling.

I love my 6 inch female gbb. She is super chill

The second sling have no idea what it is. So what is it?
