Congrats, how big is she? :)

I think you can get that photo to show by wrapping IMG tags around it (copy and paste links into mountain icon).

How long was she in premolt? My big female has a bald abdomen but shows no signs of premolt.

i figured it out, used the wrong url. this time I right clicked and went to properties, maybe it will work.

just started premolt last night, she has been bald since I got her about 8 months ago.
she is just over six inches right now, I was told by her previous owner that she is at least seven years old.

kinda strange that she never fasted. lately I have been feeding her more than normal, about six crickets or more a week. also I have been heavily misting her enclosure about once a week.

I will post again once she starts to molt.

the picture worked a second ago, what is going on?

bald abdomen dont mean a ting its the dark coloration u see, thats the key the reason people mislead bald abdomen with molting is if the abdomen is bald its easyer to see the dark patches my blondie went in to pre molt 3 days ago!!!

crazy t's

so... I have another B. smithi female, and she decided to molt today, out of the blue! I didnt really have any idea when she was going to molt and she has no bald spot at all, I have had her for about six months and she showed no signs of an impending molt. she has been eating fine for months now, just crazy. here I have been focusing all my attention on the other, and she flips on her back and kicks off her old skin like its nothing. I guess she must have gotten jellous.

anyways now she is a beast, can't wait to get her out and measure the legspan.

p.s. I like the idea of getting her to a safer/darker place but is it really a good idea to move the one that is in premolt?
