I'm looking for a pet rock of sorts-something that doesn't require a lot of maintenance or specialized care, and that I can hold from time to time. How hardy are vinegaroons? Something like kritter kage with some moisture and a gatorade lid for water work? I have a lot of native US western Aphonopelma, they are invulnerable, but it doesn't have to be quite that bare bones. Also does anyone have experience with their bite? How bad is it? Thanks.

They need moister substrate than Aphonopelma spp. If you use a kritter keeper you have to restrict the majority of the ventilation.

For water I use a 2.5 oz souffle cup like with my Tarantulas.

Many species. But generally they are pretty hardy. Care will depend on sp.

They are not venomous, so their bite is not important. They pinch, but also nothing. Just watch the acid from their tail and your eyes. The species I have kept are nothing to worry about in that regards, just wash it off. But it's uncomfortable and stinks.
